History & Heritage

The King's Course at Gleneagles, designed by James Braid and opened in 1919, is Scotland's most famous inland course. Built on the Gleneagles Hotel estate in the Perthshire hills, the course was part of a grand vision to create a world-class resort. Braid used the rolling moorland and Highland scenery to create a masterpiece of inland golf. The course hosted the 2014 Ryder Cup, bringing it to worldwide attention.
