Tarbat
Highlands

Portmahomack (Tarbat) Golf Club — a nine-hole links on the Tarbat peninsula with views over both the Dornoch and Moray Firths: generous fairways for holiday golfers and challenging greens for the experienced. John Sutherland of Dornoch called the site 'a capital course'.
Golf was first recorded on the Portmahomack common in 1894. Local golfers formed the club in 1908 and it was constituted on 26 February 1909, opening its course on 17 June 1909 on links at Seafield recommended by John Sutherland of Dornoch, who later returned to lay out new holes. The club's emblem is the Tarbatness Lighthouse (Robert Stevenson, 1830); the present clubhouse opened in 1989.
