Plays north toward the sea. The front of the green slopes from back to front, with a deep bunker at the front right.

Downhill par 3, with the North Sea to the right and the mouth of the Firth of Tay beyond the green.

Short par 5 below the brow of a hill. The sea is on the right, and the right greenside bunker extends well in front of the green.

Named for a castle built on this site by King John of the Scots in 1292, in ruins by 1790.

Tassie is Scots for a small cup, for the punchbowl green. The green opens from the left.

Drivable par 4 on the ground of the original nine-hole course from 1793. Water lies beyond the two-level green.

Stroke index 1. Often into the wind and uphill. Lang Wynd is a long narrow street, for the fairway that narrows near the green.

Short par 3. A wee dunt is a small bump shot. The right side of the green slopes away from the tee.

The Kingsbarns kirk spire was once visible beyond the woods. The green has a centre tier that falls away to the front and back.

Part of Cambo Estate. The 1884 manor house stands in the woods to the right of the green, and the approach plays uphill.

The wall on the right is in play and is not out of bounds. A short approach left of the bunker can feed to the middle of the green.

Par 5 named for its length and for the Orr family, who once owned the green site. The green is 65 yards long.

The shortest hole. A miss to the right leaves the hardest second shot on the course.

Named for the rumpled-cloth shapes of the rock in the sea. The green has two tiers, with a pot bunker at the front right.

Par 3 to a green on land projecting into the sea. A ball in the sea is replayed from the drop zone beyond the woods.

Par 5 with a burn behind and along the right side of the green.

Uphill to a three-tier green. A small harbour was made to the right of the hole around 1750.

Par 4 to a green beyond the Cundie. The brig is the arched bridge in front of the green, built in the 1700s.
