A unique 12-hole seaside links at Blackwaterfoot on Arran's west coast — 'a topographical roller coaster' of blind shots, elevated tees and sloping greens, with views across the Kilbrannan Sound.
Opened in June 1896 by the Lord Advocate, with Glasgow banker Alexander Boyd credited as founder and Willie Fernie of Troon designing the original nine holes. Extended to 18 holes in September 1912, including two holes on the Crow's Nest shelf; six holes on Drumadoon Hill reverted to moorland during the 1914–18 war, and Willie Park designed the 12-hole layout played today. The club bought the course and foreshore outright in 1961 for £1,000.

- Open competitions include the Gents Stableford Open, Ladies Greensome Open, RNLI Stableford Open, the Shiskine Valley Improvements Texas Scramble (Sam Guthrie Trophy), Ladies Pink Day and the Arran Challenge.

Course Conditions
Kept in great condition by the greens staff and open year-round, weather permitting. Seaside links with blind approaches, elevated tees and severely sloping greens.
